My Ultimate Productivity Guide to Ultimate Productivity

As the title suggests, this is my complete productivity guide to achieve ultimate productivity.

So there are certain ingredients to perfectly assemble your productivity burger: You need a to-do list, a calendar and some sort of notes (which may or may not be relevant according on your workflow)

Disclaimer: I am not saying that I am in any way, shape or form a productivity master.. in fact I am the complete opposite I very much am lazy that I just consume alot of content on YouTube which also means that I have consumed so much productivity videos on YouTube that i can summarize the main productivity tips that are most important. I am not productive, I just know how to be productive.

If you want to see other productivity YouTubers, I highly recommend Ali Abdaal, Thomas Frank & Matt D'Avella whom I've got these tips from.. Links below

Wow! That was like 11 times that I said the word ”productivity” including the title.

The most important advice that I can give you right now is that it absolutely doesn’t matter how you achieve the three things mentioned above, what matters is that you actually achieve them. So, stop searching for the perfect note-taking app or the perfect to-do list app that is just right for you.. go get a pen and a piece of paper and start writing and planning your day.

So the thing is that: Our brains are not made for storing ideas, they are made for having them. So, we shouldn't ruin the very creative gifts that God gave us by phrases like "I'll remember it later", Instead, There should be a tool or a way for us to dump any thought or idea that we have and we should work hard to make that "dumping act" as easy, as convenient and as frictionless as possible so that it is not a hassle to save that wonderful video idea that you just had. Now, let me quickly talk about the reason behind suggesting those three tools because I want to finish this to go edit the video that should be now posted on YouTube by the time you are reading this. First: A To-do list Manager

To-do lists are important because they let you plan ahead which is the most important thing ever. Put everything in a to-do list and when you are ready to work pull up your to-do list and categorize your tasks and decide what will you start by working on.

There is nothing worse than wanting to work but not knowing what tasks you should be doing.

Second: A Calendar

Why would you need a calendar? You are not a business man who has 7+ meetings a day that are crucial for the future of scientific research in the world, are you?

You don’t have to be.. I use Google Calendar to put my classes’ times, dates and places, my exams, quizzes and assignments’ deadlines.

Third: Notes Manager

Useful in many ways.. I personally put everything in any notes app or on my physical notebook when i am in a hurry and later decide where this should go either an event on my calendar or a to-do on my to-do list.

As I said above, and I can’t stress this enough, the key here is that it doesn't matter how you do it, what matters is that you actually do do it. You will find many apps for everything, free and paid, offering features you think you need, and yes they may make stuff easier but, you can absolutely do all of this without a single app and it would be definitely worth it.

I personally like to digitalize most of the stuff I do so, I use a combination of different things:

For my to-do list app of choice, I use Todoist: Syncs everywhere, iPhone and Android and I put a Todoist widget on Notion which lets me open Todoist from Notion.. more on Notion later.

For my calendar, I use Google Calendar: syncs across all devices.

And for my Notes I use more than one note-taking app. First: The default notes app on my phone (easy and convinient). Second: Notion - which I use more as a project manager. The best word to describe it would be my second brain. I use it for almost every aspect of my life, I plan videos, manage my academic life and write this very blog post on it. I will link a YouTube video below that talks more in depth about Notion which you should absolutely check out.

Third: Drafts: which is how i implemented the idea of making the “dumping act” as frictionless as possible. This is beacuse Drafts lets you open a new note instantly when you launch it so that you immediately capture that idea. I use drafts as an inbox so, everything goes into drafts first, from assignments and exams to video ideas, to blog posts, to articles or videos that I want to check out later, then I later worry about categorizing what that note was because I know I am not going to forget it.

Lastly: Notability which I use for hand-written notes on the iPad pro which I may be doing a video about in the future. Stay tuned!
